Miniature Donkeys are typically very hardly little animals.  To remain so they need the same annual vaccinations, regular dewormings, and hoof care as other equine.  Donkeys need shelter from the elements.  We personally believe a run-in type situation is best for housing miniature donkeys.

Donkeys can get by on good quality hay alone.  We feed our donkeys a minimal amount of 10% protein sweet feed daily as well.  Miniature donkeys are very easy keepers and it is important that they don’t get fat.  They require very little sustenance to maintain healthy weights.

Donkeys like to run and play on pasture, however they will happy on much less acreage than larger equines.

Most miniature donkeys love attention.  They form very close bonds with the people and other animals around them.  Once you have befriended an miniature donkey you have a pal for life.  Donkeys are herd animals and they will not happy if forced to live alone.  Donkeys enjoy the company of other donkeys.  Two donkeys will live quite happily together.  Miniature donkeys also often enjoy of the company of other larger donkeys or horses.

Most of all miniature donkeys need kindness and attention and love!!
